Q. Will ALL of my spots & stains be removed including Red Wine & Coffee?
A. We carry a large range of Stain treatments which covers FRESH: blood, red wine, coffee, urine, faeces, coffee & tea. However, a lot of people have 'Unrealistic Expectations'. If the ph of your stain has been altered over time, it is trial & error for us so we CANNOT guarantee FULL removal of any stain, but we will do our BEST to TRY to lighten &/or remove these stains. To have the best chance of removing a spill/stain, we MUST attend the property within 48 hours of the spill/stain occurring. Only water or soda water should be used on the stain & dabbed gently. Any other product applied to the stain WILL change the ph (chemical balance) of the stain & will make it a lot tougher for us to attempt to remove it.
NB: Colours like red, orange & yellow that have set over time, are virtually impossible to remove unless we use 'heat transfer method' which can take some time & can be costly!
Q. How long will it take for my carpet to DRY?
A: During warmer months 4-6 hours from completion of job. In cooler weather (April to August) it will generally take 6-8 hours from completion of job, which is WHY I recommend DELUXE steam cleans be done in the morning. Good ventilation/airflow by overhead fans, open windows & doors will decrease drying times. If you are within 10 kms of Seaforth, we can leave a dryer on site to speed up the drying process IF needed.
Q3. How often should I have my carpets &/or upholstery cleaned?
A: As OFTEN as YOU FEEL it needs cleaning! - generally every 12 months. The more often you vacuum your carpet to remove abrasive dirt, the less often you probably need to have a restorative steam clean performed by us. It really depends on the quality, type (nylon, wool, mix, polypropolene) of carpet, & the amount of traffic your carpet has on it. A clean looking carpet or upholstery will still hold a lot of unseen dirt & bacteria.
Q4. Will my OLD or WORN carpet look NEW upon completion, & ALL off my spots & stains be gone?
A: Probably NOT! Your carpet WILL be CLEANED to the HEALTHIEST standard possible. Stains are a PERMANENT change in the colour of the carpet fibre, so we cannot guarantee removal. A spot has not yet become permanent. We will endeavour to remove as many spots as possible. Stains MAY require 'Specialty Stain Treatment'
Q5. What type of payment methods do we accept?
A: Preferred payment is : Cash, Cheque or Visa or Mastercard (CREDIT cards only). Direct Deposit not paid within 2 days, MAY incur additional cost
Q6. Why are Persian & Oriental rugs a Specialty?
A: These types of rugs hold an immense amount of dirt due the majority being thick, so they will need a LOT of agitation & vacuuming. They also sometimes have colours (red) that will RUN (bleed or crock) & are susceptible to browning. A lot of care needs to be taken when cleaning.
Also, we cannot clean the white/beige FRINGES of these rugs at your property, as they WILL go brown & MAY stay brown. For an optimum result, they need specialty hand applied treatment at our factory.
Q7. Why are SHAG rugs a Specialty?
A: These types of rugs also hold an immense amount of dirt. They will need several agitations & thorough vacuuming. They will also take several days to dry out completely.
NB: We recommend that Persian, Oriental & Shag rugs be taken to our RUG Factory for a thorough clean. Due to their thickness they will also take several days to dry out completely.
Q8. Urine removal from carpet
A: Removing urine from carpet is a difficult task. Depending on the severity of the situation, we can use our sub floor extraction tool to remove as much residue & 70-75% of KNOWN odour sources from the carpet, its backing & from the underlay. However, in many situations the STAIN has been left too long to be successfully removed & the problem is not just in one area. Please see our 'Specialty section' for more details
Q8. Accidental spills
A: ACT QUICKLY! Try to remove as much of the spill as possible. Scrape or BLOT up spill with a clean WHITE cloth or plain paper towel whilst working from the outside of the spill towards the centre. TRY NOT to rub the spill.
